Meet The Team

Archers Marquees is a marquee and equipment hire business based just south of Bath, run by husband and wife team, Giles and Erica Hill.

They took on the well-established business at the beginning of 2018, moving to the area from South-West London. Thanks to the previous owners (Founder ex-England Rugby player Garath Archer and Anthony Dutton) the business had a reputation as an honest, easy-to-work-with and reliable company and these attributes remain a high priority to this day.

As a team, we offer our customers support and guidance from the first moment of contact right through the event itself, taking the time to understand the vision each customer has. Regular re-investment in the company keeps our kit current and we are always looking to be on board with current trends in the events world.

We mainly cover Bristol, Bath, Somerset, Wiltshire and parts of Gloucestershire and Dorset, but can travel further if required.

Our team

GILES HILL | DIRECTOR

Giles has a wealth of experience having first worked ‘on the tents’ at the tender age of nineteen, some twenty (and a bit..) years ago now. In his early thirties he worked for a hugely successful and highly reputable marquee company in London. Embassies, Palaces, mass participation events, bespoke builds in Kensington gardens, nothing was too much of a challenge.

In a past life, Giles was an avid climber and mountaineer and has reached the top of Mont Blanc. He is steadily ticking off 3star Classic multipitch routes in the UK. He now loves to take Erica and the children out exploring and is keen to face new heights both climbing mountains and with the company!

ERICA HILL | DIRECTOR

Erica complements Giles’ technical ‘know-how’ with her background in the events industry and now also puts her hand to the day-to-day running of the company. That said, she can also be found often helping on site building the marquees and getting stuck in!

Prior to marquees and events, Erica was a full-time tennis coach and ran programmes in Bath and she has finally picked up a tennis racket again after too many years away from the sport.

SARAH HALL | EVENT & OPERATIONS MANAGER

Sarah is the Event & Operations Manager at Archers Marquees and otherwise known as the ‘rock’ of the company. She will not only answer any query you may have, but also go the extra mile to answer any question you didn’t even realise you had! She cares deeply for your individual event, wanting it to be exactly how you planned and her complete understanding of marquees, the space available and everything that goes with it will ensure that all bases are covered.

When she’s not looking after your event you can find her competing for Wales on the hockey pitch or baking up some incredible cakes in the kitchen!

JAKE TRASK | HEAD FOREMAN

Jake is the Head Foreman who is most likely to be bringing your vision to life, along with our reliable team of riggers. His vast knowledge and understanding of marquees and temporary structures will mean your event is in safe hands, and he wants nothing more than for you to be relaxed and happy ahead of your event.

THE RIGGERS

These are the friendly chaps that will be on site to build your marquee and endeavour to have everything as you have envisioned. They offer a range of experience and skills, and enjoy seeing their hard work bring an event to life.

The only thing they need sometimes is a cuppa to keep them going!
